The Magic of Amsterdam

Being in a new place seems to be good for the brain. The monotony of your current situation needs to be broken up now and again to add a bit of spice to your life. Many of us never get the opportunity to do this and I am overly grateful for my first ‘proper’ trip to Amsterdam and the first holiday away with the other half. My first Muay Thai fight

I started the day focused, listening to my Fight 1 playlist trying to get myself pumped up on the bus. The streets were empty, and again it really did feel like I was alone. I’ve felt like this whilst training sometimes too, the whole process of preparing for a fight is at times very isolating, but when I stepped in the ring I understood why. My first Muay Thai Interclub

I’ve been given a date for my first Muay Thai interclub. I have 5/6 weeks and currently weigh 84kg which is way too heavy to fight. I’m not sure how much weight I can lose in the time but I will try for 3-5kg and take it from there.  I’m not going to eat bread, 1 bar of dark chocolate a week, eat less meat, drink more water, take some bitters and  try and run 3-4 days a week as well as x4 minimum Muay Thai training. I’m pretty excited because this has been something I’ve been thinking about for months. Continue reading My first Muay Thai Interclub

Maltered states

Times four, family in the wilderness. Or as Wildernessy it can get in the UK. It starts off the same as always, creeping up on you quick like a caffeine induced green goblin climbing your leg then the nausea starts. Easier to manage after numerous sessions but still present. Vibrations and waviness, the empty of the cage sitting there dark and gangly, Rio is missed. Continue reading Maltered states
