PERCEPTIVE BLANKETS WARM THE WORLD

Blistering heat, well prepared, the group & me in the middle of the forest, next to the horses and surrounded by dogs. The old man, I thought I’d seen before. The experience felt déjà vu ish, but it was light this time. One liquid and four dustings. The cottage was three hundred years old attached to a larger property set in the middle of the woods in Bury. There were other houses, but the nearest was about a mile away. Where we stayed was separated from the adjoining house by trees and bushes, with its own nightlighted entrance gave us the  true feeling of seclusion. Peaceful, tranquil, music prepared and obviously a fast, except for a few strawberries. Never before have I experienced this feeling in the intense heat for so long, and I was set up underneath a tree lying down for the whole trip. It hit me after fifteen with not many visuals. I noticed that when you do it outside like this it’s no longer contained, the energy runs through the blades of grass, on the wings of the flies and the horns of the crickets. Annoying fucking flies. I tried to be one and still, present and allow the bugs to climb aboard, but they tickled my skin. It got hotter as the sun slid across the sky, and the trip became a little more intense.

MOVING AVERAGES

A moving average (MA) in finance is a stock indicator that helps smooth out the price data over a specified period of time by creating a constantly updated average price. Instead of looking at a candlestick representation of a stock price over time, the MA, offers a smoother, different perspective, which may show up patterns which can’t usually be seen. Moving averages can also indicate where the stock might by over bought or oversold. The overbought & oversold identification is easier seen when comparing two different MA periods, 20 day and 200 day for example. Bollinger bands can indicate overbought and oversold situations. The MA can help filter out the noise from random price movements, and as well as identifying trends, it can confirm reversals. When the price is above the MA line this is an uptrend and below the MA line a downtrend/ trend reversal. The MA can also be considered as an indicator of support and resistance. When the price is above the moving average this can be an indicator to buy, and when it’s under the moving average line this could be time to sell.

Charly palmer

A graphic designer, illustrator and teacher who devotes his life to his creative goals. Inspired by illustrations in Ezra Jack Keats’ The Snowy Day, from a young age Charly’s imagination was captured early on. He says himself he was chosen to do this, born to paint. Charly Palmer’s artwork is gorgeous, with specific attention taken to emit emotions through the eye’s of the painted faces. Abstract, geometrical and beautifully layered textures & patterns, Charly is able to blend the figures with the backgrounds whilst portraying feelings of hope, injustice and defiance. Battleship, Chloe Freedom& Hidden are my favourite pieces, stunning, powerful, raw and heartbreaking. An accomplished artist, who is known to the conglomerates of the world who collect his pieces privately and publicly. There are many different ways to induce emotions in people and as well as reading and watching videos, there is definitely a place in my psyche for artistic expression. I hope that Charly Palmer gets more recognition as we need powerful forms of expression in a time where the repetitive absorption of videos, social media and thought pieces start to numb the senses. Artists like Charly Palmer have unique ability to shatter the normative barriers we teach our minds to get used to when absorbing information, and offer a new pathway to feeling and understanding. Plus the, artwork is incredible!

Monique wants us to boycott Netflix

Monique is a black female comedian who has been in…movies and tv shows. I’m not particularly familiar with her work but she was harrowing in the film precious. She’s one of those comedians who is more well known in the black entertainment circles and when Netflix offered her five hundred thousand dollars to do a Netflix special she went on a rant, claimed racism/sexism and said to boycott Netflix.  Continue reading Monique wants us to boycott Netflix
